Frequently asked questions
Will the tinted versions look natural?
Yes. The tinted range comes in natural, sand and deep shades designed to blend into a range of skin tones, so the zinc protects without a white cast.
Who is it for?
It is made for surfers and anyone who spends long days in the water and the sun — but it suits anyone who prefers a mineral, reef-friendlier sunscreen.
What makes it reef-friendly?
The formulas are built around mineral zinc and are free of the oxybenzone and octinoxate that are linked to coral damage, so they are gentler on the reef.
Why is it so thick?
Mineral zinc is naturally thick and sits on the skin, which is exactly what you want in the water — it stays put through a session rather than washing straight off. It takes a little rubbing in.
Is this a medicine?
No. Salty Reef sunscreen is a cosmetic skincare product for the demo. In Australia, sunscreen with SPF claims is regulated, so a real retail version would need to come from an approved, listed supplier. This demo makes no such claim.
What is mineral zinc sunscreen?
It is a sunscreen built on mineral zinc, which sits on the skin's surface as a physical mineral layer rather than being absorbed like a chemical filter. We use it in thick, water-resistant formulas made for surfers.
